I live somewhere cold, where it snows a LOT. I am a true desert rat and that sentence has been hard for me to say out loud for the past 3 months. Almost like the first time you have to say "this is my ...husband" or "hi, i'm Mrs.....?" And up until a few days ago I really was doing just fine being in denial about the whole move to a cold place, but this weekend made me realize the truth. I'm just surprised that I had to come back from Canada to AZ to get snow dumped on me. Although I was very sad that I didn't take the photos after we had gotten the full 24 inches, these are some of the photos that I snapped during my reality check this past weekend.
This is my hubs shoveling snow in our driveway the 1st time, early in the morning actually. We literally got in a fight about him wearing a hat and we compromised on the long sleeve shirt instead of a short sleeved one. I was seriously starting to doubt his intelligence.
And this is the 2nd time 15 mins after the 1st time.
Church was cancelled(did you know that was possible??) so we went out in search of people to serve. Well...Kallam did, I sat hibernating in the jeep while he helped COUNTLESS families get un-stuck on random roads.
Then he chose this road to teach me how to drive in the snow. I said..."What road?"
I made this one extra big so ya'll could really appreciate what you were seeing. This is actually Kallam on his 6th and final time of shoveling our driveway that day at 9pm at night, in his church clothes that he didn't go to church in. This totally sums up everything that Kallam loves in one picture....wearing church clothes, shoveling snow, and being cold=crazy.
This was only after 15 or so inches, I couldn't even see it after the second day of straight snowing. Joy.
This is my 4th winter up here, and the first time church has been cancelled. It was a crazy storm! I haven't seen that much snow at once in two years (not long, I know), and to have it happen in March was unique too. Crazy how fast it's melting though! Good for you guys going out and serving, we were lazy bums all day.
